Best Pacific Northwest Drives – Astons and Austins run

A great excuse for a drive was commiserating over the number of times two clubs have heard “nice Austin Martin”, or “cool Aston Healey”. As a public service we agreed to have a drive and meet at a brewery known for hosting car events, the Sumerian. The Healey club president, Bruce Barrett, scouted out a short but fabulous drive this year that avoided construction, congestion, and consternation. The only drama came when “somebody’s” Healey ran out of gas. Huge thanks to Gary Davis and his cavernous 2-seater 100M boot for the rescue. If anyone knows how to make a measuring stick for a Healey 3000 fuel tank please reach out. Asking for a friend. ;)

Here is the ideal summer route Bruce chose for this mix of cars: route link

At the Sumerian the event broadened to “The British are Coming” day, and interesting British cars from other marques appeared. Fish and chips catering was suitably provided by the Anthony’s chip truck.

Here is the usual one-minute ride-along:

Many thanks to the Cascade Austin Healey Club and the Pacific Northwest Aston Marton Owners group for a lovely day out.
